Metalworking Technician / Toolmaker – Apprenticeship (m/f/d)

Apprentice training (Length of apprenticeship: 3.5 – 4 years)

Metalworking Technicians for toolmaking manufacture tools such as e.g. plastic injection moulding, cutting, stamping and pressing, cutting tools, which are used in commercial and industrial manufacturing processes. They assemble mechanical parts, components, and components of tools, screw and rivet them together and check their functionality. Apart from this, they are involved in servicing and repairing tools. Technical drawing programmes such as CAD are used to design and manufacture tools as well as computer-aided (CNC) machine-tools.

Toolmaking technicians work in workshops and factory buildings in commercial and industrial companies alongside their male and female colleagues as well as with other fully-trained staff from the fields of mechanical engineering and metalworking.

Your activities include

  • Manufacturing parts for tools and machine-tools out of metal and plastic
  • Servicing, maintenance and repair of machine-tools and component parts
  • Automated processing of workpieces using computer-controlled machine-tools (CNC machines)
  • Processing workpieces on conventional machines

Your profile

  • Positive outcome for school leavers certificate from compulsory schooling, with best result possible (we are also happy to receive applications from school leavers from grammar schools and high schools, technical and vocational schools preferred)
  • You must be sure you can reach the apprentice training company
  • Technical, trade and craft understanding, skills and dexterity
  • Good skills in mathematics
  • Good spatial awareness
  • Interested in mechanical engineering
  • Logical and analytical thought processes

We can offer you

Apprentice remuneration to train as Metalworking Technician – Toolmaking Technician is € 800.00 euros gross per month. 
Hours of work: Monday – Friday, ca. 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.
